The School of Public Policy and Governance was established in 2006 in MDI Gurgaon. Since then, with the support of DoPT, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Public Policy and Management) - PGDM (PPM) has successfully trained approximately 250 senior officers representing 22 Ministries/Organizations & State Governments from 12 Services – (IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, Indian Railways, IES, ITS, CSS, ICAR, Atomic Energy, etc).

The School of Management of Financial Institutions (SMFI) is a renowned institution that is dedicated to providing education, training, research, and consulting services in the field of banking and finance. It caters specifically to the emerging markets of India and South Asian countries. The primary objective of SoMFI is to produce business leaders who can add value to their organizations while also shaping the sector's landscape through policy-making.

Research and Consulting are important constituents of the Institute's vision and mission. MDI Gurgaon's academic community is research-active and carries out research work of a high international standard that contributes to the national goals of innovation, socio-economic development, and environmental sustainability. The Institute's calendar of activities includes deep-diving guest lectures, research seminar series, workshops and panel discussions centred on varied themes. Participants get to hear updates and state-of-the-art new leads in research, and innovations in methods and concepts and contribute to extending the frontiers of knowledge.

At MDI Gurgaon, a CoE is a consortia of MDI Gurgaon academics, industry experts and member companies that augment knowledge and industry practices in 'the areas of expertise'. These Centres support the spirit of knowledge creation, insight and implementation.

The Teaching and Learning Centre at MDI Gurgaon (TLC@MDI) recognises that faculty is the key resource for driving excellence in management both in terms of a student's learning in the classroom as well as applications in practice. The Centre facilitates teaching excellence, encourages innovative approaches to the design and delivery of courses and programmes, and helps support the writing and publication of cases. It aims to bring an innovative approach to curriculum design in the context of experiential learning, short-term management development programmes, as well as online, off-line, blended, and hybrid models of teaching and learning.

Training and Development of managers is one of the major activities of MDI Gurgaon. The Institute has trained and nurtured over 1,00,000 managers in the course of the 50 years of its existence. The Institute prides itself for the personalised training modules that it offers to organisations of different kinds at different levels.

MDI Gurgaon nurtures a vision to be a truly global business school. As economic networks gain eminence over geographic boundaries, the Institute realised the emerging role of international markets and the need for B-schools to groom managers with an international perspective.
